Capstone

For the Writing Minor final project, minors are challenged with completing a semester-long project of their choosing. I am by nature a chronically indecisive person. Being given the opportunity to spend four months working on bascially anything left me feeling more confused than if I were to be given some restriction.

Since I've had a lot of opportunity to reflect on my writing development, but fewer opportunities to focus on my personal development, I chose to write about an aspect of my life that has been especially transformative: transitions. In analyzing my transitions throughout the past ten or so years, I found that while they all had moments of crippling anxiety, they also had potential for heightened self-awareness and personal improvement. I consider my transitions liminal spaces, or the "in-between" of being neither here nor there. These transitional moments shape my perception of myself and of the world.
